About Me:
Went through a Spiral, Dead On Arrival, Reborn in Thorns, now I'm Torn from Survival. Warren Britt started off writing poems while still in Elementary School. Gradually he picked up the art of Hip Hop in the fall of 1996, inspired by artist such as LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, Redman and The Late Tupac Shakur he continued to convey his love for the artform starting of making Parodies of his songs revolving around sexual escapades that needless to say at 12 years old he had yet to experience, to writing full fledged compositions about Police Brutality, Life, Family, as well as the common Self-Idolization that is thrown around the genre. In December 2002, he released his very first record THE ILLOSOPHY while still in High School. Though only 1000 copies of this record would be printed, they've happened to find themselves in homes from London to Liverpool, England, all the way to Russia, The Netherlands, Canada, and Austrailia. While making music was fun to Warren, in 2004 at age 20, his family was very much concerned about his well being and future and essentially talked him into looking for "more realistic goals" in life. But in October 2008, while at work listening to The Foriegn Exchange's LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND, he suddenly felt the urge to pick up the pen and pad and jot down his feelings to rhythms, citing it as a relaxation process from the ills of his job. He just wasn't happy at work at all. But in the 2nd week of December, (a few weeks before Christmas) things would change as his boss laid him off. Warren states; "Getting laid off was probably the best thing that could've happened me actually. Fuel to the Fire, Comb to the hair, The Well Rounded Sir's Cool, I'm back in the Square fool" And in the Winter of 2009, his friend First Class expressed his interest to Warren about starting a Hip Hop group. Together they joined forces to become The Absolute Truth. A few weeks later Warren found himself in a Bushwick Recording Studio with his friend First Class recording what was supposed to be their Debut EP. Then in March 2009 on the eve of their debut performance at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe...First Class left the group. With that Warren Britt took the steering wheel... Warren Britt's been performing around the New York City, New Jersey area since February 4th, 2009 and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. He has released an EP titled @TheMethLab which features production by up & coming Hip Hop Producer DON WILLI and has also been featured on various projects such as the JESSE ABRAHAM & SPILLS (of SPILLS Vs. FELECIA CRUZ) joint album ALPHABUTTER (http://alphabutter.bandcamp.com), the WILLIE GREEN vs. NASA Hip Hop Masterpiece LAW & ORDER (http://lawandorder.bandcamp.com) as well as the new face of Underground Hip Hop YC THE CYNIC's newest mixtape YOU'RE WELCOME. Warren Britt is quickly working on @TheMethLab's follow up, A collaboration album with Queens Musician OTIS CLAPP of the band DUMP BODY www.dumpbody.net As well as another collaborative group effort as "THE BROTHERS PIFF" featuring fellow Brooklyn MCs THE MC FACEMAN and PRECISE of the Hip Hop Group ILLICIT VISIONARIEZ, plus his currently untitled sophomore LP set for release in 2011. "When all's said and done, the work will not be done in vain. Maybe In Vein, but not in vain, LOL I'm kidding kids, Where Gonna Die Like This You Know!!!! But seriously, I can't wait to see where this path takes me." Since his return to the music world he's drawn a bunch of New Influences such as North Carolina Hip Hop Group;Little Brother, Minnesota Hip Hop Artist; P.O.S, Chicago Native; Lupe Fiasco, Upstate New York Collective; Gym Class Heroes even Minnesota Pop-Punk band; Motion City Soundtrack. "I just love music man, there's really not much more to say about that, if it sounds good, I'm gonna find it, trap it, and keep in bottled up until I feel the world is ready to experience the magnitude of power that I feel when I hear certain joints. You're gonna love what I listen to, and you're gonna love what I make. It's a win/win, even for the losers."
